AboutBill Campbell is a fulltime nature photographer shooting all aspects of natural history with film and digital. After leaving an active family practice in 1996, he has taught for the Great American Photography Workshops and Rocky Mountain Photography Workshops around the country. His images and articles have appeared in numerous textbooks, calendars, magazines including Outdoor Photographer, PCPhoto, Birder's World, Backpacking, Audubon calendars. His own book, The Smoky Mountains Photographer's Guide, written and produced with friend Nye Simmons, has become a best selling regional book. In 2004, he placed Second in the digital division of the prestigous Valley Land Fund Photo Contest in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. His current project photographing the Cumberland Trail for the Cumberland Trail Conference for a book to be published late 2007 or early 2008.To provide a first-rate and unique learning experience for digital photography and digital imaging, Bill has started the Campbell Digital Institute in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This Institute will provide the very best in training located between the Smoky Mountains and the Cumberland Mountains. His philosophy of nature photography is simple, show people the beauty of God's handiwork. To quote photographer William Neill, "The nature photographer's task is to experience nature as fully as possible and to share our passion with others through our photographs." Bill resides in Oak Ridge, Tennessee with his wife Mary and their three sons; Matt, Luke and Joe. Their home life is very active and very blessed.
